![]() ![]() The satin finish and the years make for a really playable worn-out feel, and the short scale also contributes the feeling of ease. The star of this guitar for me is definitely the neck. When you crank the tubes or get some drive / fuzz, this thing has a very grungy / sonic youth vibe to it, and it also offers some really sweet garage blues tones. Cleans are slightly less twangier than what you'd get from a tele or strat, yet rounder and a bit fuller, I could see a jazz fan loving this. The sound is really cool: very low noise from the sole single coil pick up in the neck. Great conditions and just my fav color combination! I am a lefty, so the store (Rivington guitars) did a great job setting it up so I could string it the other way around, they managed to save the original nut! (The first photo was shot with my iphone, while the next 2 were taken from the store's listing of the exact same guitar - funny how this "desert sand" is so dependant on the light around) I've always been a fan of musicmasters and this '59 is really cool.
